Victor Lystedt - Automotive Repair Manager and Youth Safety Advocate

For 13 years, Victor Lystedt served as the general manager of Burien Toyota-Chevrolet in Burien, Washington. A resident of Maple Valley, Victor Lystedt handled several aspects of the company’s repair business, such as hiring mechanics, training managers, customer relations, and vehicle maintenance. The shop routinely performed over 300 repairs a month, and was a preferred company among major insurance companies. He oversaw growth of the company’s yearly gross from $1 million per year to $7.5 million per year in just six years.

Mr. Lystedt also has a personal stake in informing the public about the risk of concussions in young athletes. His son Zack played both offense and defense for his junior high school football team. In the first quarter of one game, he took a hit to the back of his head during a tackle. Officials called a time out, and he later returned to play. By the end of the game he had difficulty standing, and he was taken to a Level I trauma center, where he had emergency surgery to relieve pressure on his brain. It was nine months before Zack was able to speak, and it took three years for Zack to be able to stand on his feet without assistance. As a result, Mr. Lystedt supports others in his son’s predicament through the Washington State Brain Injury Association.
